About
Built on Craftsmanship.
Guided by Experience.
Metrowest Kitchen & Bath was founded on a simple belief: exceptional homes deserve exceptional craftsmanship.
Owner John Tierney has spent more than 25 years building and renovating homes throughout MetroWest Massachusetts and New England. Growing up in the construction industry, he developed an appreciation for quality workmanship early in life—one that continues to shape every project today.
A lifelong New Englander, John understands the character of the region's homes, from historic farmhouses and antique colonials to thoughtfully designed new construction. Having renovated his own 1800s home, he brings a unique perspective to balancing modern functionality with timeless design, always respecting the history and integrity of the home.
Every project is approached with careful planning, honest communication, and a commitment to creating spaces that will serve families for decades—not just look good for today.
We believe remodeling is an investment. Our clients aren't looking for shortcuts or temporary solutions; they're looking for thoughtful craftsmanship, quality materials, and a team that stands behind its work long after the project is complete.
That philosophy extends beyond our own crew. Over decades in the industry, we've built trusted relationships with an experienced network of electricians, plumbers, tile setters, painters, cabinet makers, and specialty tradespeople. Each brings years of expertise to their craft and shares the same commitment to quality, professionalism, and attention to detail.
The result is a team that works together seamlessly to deliver beautiful, lasting renovations with pride in every detail.

John has been building homes and refining his craft since he was a teen. Today, he brings more than two decades of hands-on experience to every kitchen, bathroom, addition, and renovation.
Known for his thoughtful approach and meticulous attention to detail, John believes every home should reflect the people who live in it. His work combines timeless craftsmanship with practical design, creating spaces that feel both beautiful and enduring.
Whether restoring the character of a historic home or building something entirely new, John's goal remains the same: deliver work that will stand the test of time.
james tierney
co-founder
Jim has been honing his craft since he was old enough to pick up a hammer.
With decades of experience in residential construction, he brings an unmatched level of skill, patience, and pride to every project. His eye for detail is, by most accounts, borderline obsessive—and that's exactly what you want in someone building your home.
When Jim is on your job site, you can expect craftsmanship that honors tradition, respects the integrity of the home, and is built to last. Every cut, joint, and finish reflects a lifetime dedicated to doing things the right way.
His work isn't driven by trends or shortcuts. It's heritage craftsmanship, thoughtfully executed and built to be enjoyed for generations.
Built by people who care
Thoughtfully crafted to elevate what matters most.
Exceptional renovations aren't created by one person.
Over decades in the industry, we've assembled a trusted network of highly skilled tradespeople who share our commitment to quality. From cabinet makers and tile installers to electricians, plumbers, painters, and finish carpenters, every member of our team has been selected because they take pride in their craft.
Many of these relationships have been built over years of working together, allowing us to deliver projects that feel cohesive, organized, and exceptionally well executed.
Our Philosophy
We're not the right fit for every project.
If you're looking for the fastest bid or the lowest price, there are plenty of contractors who can help.
If you're looking for thoughtful planning, exceptional craftsmanship, premium materials, and a team that stands behind its work long after the project is complete, we'd be honored to earn your trust.
Because the best renovations aren't just built for today.
They're built for the generations that come next.
